I hope this isn't a loaded question. I think it's a legitimate one. My Macbook Pro seems like it's made of iron. It withstood a 5 foot drop onto ceramic tile and still purrs along nicely. So, are their comparable machines from other manufacturers that are of equal quality.

If someone is looking for a well built Windows laptop should we recommend a Macbook Pro?

Ok, I'm answering my own question.

I've actually settled on running vmware for my windows needs. It's not quite as fast as running to the bare metal of the hardware but it's good enough.
